Richard Eveleigh

Richard is an emerging artist based in the United Kingdom. He has exhibited across the South of England and his work is held in private collections around the world. In 2008 Richard held his first solo exhibition at the newly established Oxfam Art Gallery in Salisbury. He has since organized and led various group exhibitions in the United Kingdom. In 2011, Richard graduated with a first class honours degree in Fine Art.

Richard's Work 

Richard's art explores every aspect of 'painting'. His early work demonstrates an extreme use of light, colour theory and perspective.  Currently, as other art forms continue to invite viewer interaction in their creation, Richard is fascinated with the dilemma that faces contemporary painting. Painters have the choice of either following this trend or of using the traditions of technique, process and aesthetic that are unique to painting in such a way that it endures as a distinct and relevant art form.

' It is not my intention to mock or ridicule painting. Instead, I seek to create art that celebrates the traditions  of painting whilst exploring new avenues of opportunity for the discipline.'
